The Halifax Military Heritage Preservation Society is a volunteer educational society incorporated under the Societies Act and is committed to promoting public awareness of and appreciation for Halifax’s profuse and diverse military heritage.
We educate the public about the national historic importance and cultural value of Halifax’s rich military heritage and history.
We document the Halifax area’s military heritage including military personalities and organizations that have shaped Halifax from its founding to the present.
We foster and encourage public interest in the preservation of buildings, statues and sites in Halifax and its surrounding area of military and historic significance.
With such a rich military history stretching back hundreds of years, there is no shortage of heritage sites to discover and explore in Halifax. Here are but some of the places you can experience Halifax's military heritage for yourself.

We will be expanding this directory of Halifax’s historic military sites. If you have photos, documents, diagrams, maps, or memorabilia that can be scanned or photographed relating to one of Halifax’s historic sites, please consider submitting them to us. We appreciate any contribution that helps preserve Halifax’s rich military heritage.
